Gaëtan Robyn is a contemporary painter born in 1995 in Ypres were he is currently residing and working. He creates paintings that emerge from an ongoing exploration of daydreaming.
While rooted in fragments of everyday reality, these works resist straightforward interpretation.

Drawing from photographs, found imagery, digital manipulation and artificial intelligence, he constructs scenes that appear both familiar and strangely displaced.
Figures, objects and environments are reorganised according to a logic that recalls memory, association and imagination rather than narrative certainty.
Through painting, Robyn seeks to preserve the fleeting impressions that evade digital representation, allowing ambiguity to remain active within the image.
His practice is characterised by a continuous refinement of both process and perception, resulting in paintings that occupy an unstable space between the observed and the imagined.

Gaëtan Robyn studied Industrial Product Design at HOWEST in Kortrijk, Belgium and has followed een intensive course in painting & drawing at the Accademia D’arte in Florence, Italy.
